After all, there are objective factors. For example, in my family there are two first graders and one sixth grader, respectively, if one did assignments in the morning, then the second gets the afternoon. It is clear that he will not have time to hand over the task in time. You cannot put two marks for this, you need to give the student enough time to do it calmly. 

The parents’ panic was especially vivid in the early days, because teachers offered a huge number of resources that were difficult to understand. And the constant switching from one to the other was, of course, a nightmare. But now everything has calmed down, each teacher has chosen a platform for himself. 

Can you give any advice to parents who still continue to panic?

We tried to make sure that the burden on parents was minimal. By the way, there are both pros and cons on the Web, there are such active conversations … What have we tried to do? We were allowed to remove from distance education those subjects that, in our opinion, cannot be studied now and that require a lot of time. For example, physical education, according to which children are forced to write essays, or fine arts. I am not against lessons, but I am against asking something at home. Because it just takes a huge amount of time. Or the same music. Recently I came across a stunning example of homework on it on the “remote”: a child had to listen to a certain sonata and draw a violin.

We all understand. And we understand that for some time everyone will get used to the remote format, there will be a successful and unsuccessful experience. Teachers are looking for ways, trying not to lose their working spirit and exactingness: for some reason they think that a good teacher is one who asks a lot. And it will take time to find a middle ground. But now we already understand what we cannot do, what we can refuse, and what we need to come to.

What are the most in-demand faculties at your university today?

In the first place in the ranking of demand was and remains the Faculty of Law – the fashion for lawyers has not yet passed.

Although our officials say that the labor market is overflowing with lawyers, people are needed in applied professions, but, nevertheless, there are not so many good specialists in the legal field. This means that we must train such specialists, give them a good education.

The second most popular are journalists. The competition for this direction is quite high. 

And the third place in popularity is occupied by a new direction of training – advertising and public relations. 

That is, your university focuses on the humanities?

We initially have a humanitarian profile. The classic educational “core” is the old, academic faculties, which have always trained specialists in various fields.

In the educational “matrix” of our academy, there are other in-demand areas – tourism, biology, geography.

As a result of the reorganization, some faculties became part of the structural divisions of KFU, but the main areas of training – “classics of the genre” – remained at the Tavricheskaya Academy. 

In addition, a new faculty has appeared – information and printing technologies, which was previously a branch of the Lviv University of Printing. 

One of the important criteria for the success of a university is not only the quality of teaching, but also the employability of former students. Do graduates of the Tavrichesky Academy always find work in their specialty?

As I said, the basis of our educational structure is academic specialties, and the problem with the employment of such graduates exists not only in Crimea, but throughout Russia.

But still, our former students do not remain without work, especially graduates of the “opportunistic” faculties: tourism, law, journalism, etc.

As for tourism, this is the specificity of our region, such specialists are always in demand with us. Lawyers also do not experience any particular difficulties in finding a job – the fight against legal nihilism is not over in our country, therefore, lawyers and notaries in Crimea are very needed. 

And what about the rest of the specialties?

For students-“theorists” in the Tavricheskaya Academy there are “safety” areas of training – the opportunity to simultaneously receive a pedagogical education. 

This is especially true for our philologists, biologists, chemists, mathematicians, historians, geographers, who can find work at school after graduating from the academy. 

Do your graduates willingly go to school?

Not all of them, although personally, as a person who has worked as a teacher at school for 10 years, I believe that this is an excellent life course, very important and necessary. 


It is here that you can learn to work with the audience, formulate, transfer your knowledge. But whether to connect his life with school forever – of course, everyone must decide for himself.

Are there any advantages to distance learning? 

Of course. I believe that we are quite successful with distance learning and already know what to expect from it. And this is better than nothing – this is my firm confidence as a teacher. You cannot drop everything now, and then somehow “cram” this year’s program into the next year’s program. It is more correct to try to cope with distance education here and now, while not burdening the parents. Their task should be reduced to providing a workplace and virtual presence of the child in the classroom. We are trying to come to this. 

What are the advantages of distance education? Parents got to know their children from different angles. One mother wrote to us: “Can you imagine, my child was told:“ Well done ”, and in return he kissed the screen for joy. And he said that he never thought he was so talented. ” On the other hand, children learn to find information themselves. And this is the most important skill! In addition, the vast majority of parents say that they have understood that the work of a teacher is difficult. Now they wonder how the teacher copes when there are 30 people in the class. This is also a huge plus. 

I hope this situation will teach us to choose from a huge number of resources and assignments that is most suitable for each particular teacher. We are already working in EPOS (EPOS is an electronic platform for schools in the Perm Territory, which includes an electronic journal and diary, libraries of electronic educational materials; you can also compose lessons, tests, electronic teaching aids and much more. – Ed. and now we have to implement this platform at a faster pace to be ready for any situation. 

How are colleges and technical schools implementing distance education? Are the questions about how the practical lessons and exams will be held? 

Many colleagues were worried about professional education, because practical disciplines are more difficult to teach online. If you are a tractor driver, or a physician, or are engaged in radio electronics – what is this, distance education? At first we all thought that specialization training would be impossible to organize. But we did even better than at school: it turned out that only 2% of our children do not have the gadgets they need to study. But the teachers found the opportunity to study with them too. That is, online education in colleges and technical schools is on the way. We have a distance education center that we created about three years ago. There are “distance teachers” who are also involved in the process. 

With practice, of course, there are problems. But many tried to finish it in time when we began to understand that the transition to distance learning was inevitable. Those who did not have time to practice at home. For example, future primary school teachers: they can still do something. But some of the practices, if this is not the end of training, but a transitional course, had to be postponed to the next year. They will be held in the fall. We have already planned everything and we know exactly how everything will go in each specific technical school, in each course. The Institute for the Development of Education gave us great support in all this. 

Each region has its own unique experience. What is special in the Perm Territory, what important steps have you taken to make the distance education system work faster?

The good news is that, in principle, we have been dealing with such a remote mode one way or another for a long time. We began to introduce it in 2008, and since 2014 we have been using it constantly. We have a distance education center where Perm teachers work with schools in those areas where there is a shortage of teachers, for example physicists. Therefore, we got used to the remote mode, and, probably, it helped us a lot. 

In addition, we have more than ten years of experience with web 2.0 – these are electronic diaries, magazines. This is a good money box for materials, it is convenient to “hang” materials there. And those schools that remained on the previous platform until they switched to EPOS successfully used this opportunity of diaries and journals of the past generation. Well, the fact that we began to saturate schools with technology made it possible to transfer about 4.5 thousand laptops and computers to teachers and about a thousand more computers – to children for them to study.
